April 19th, 2008 by ROB ONE

First of all, I wanna give a special shout out to my man Bobbito Garcia aka Kool Bob Love for being a great inspiration to us here at Bball Junkies. Here he is once again rockin’ a Bball Junkies t-shirt, this time it’s the Trotter tee in the black colorway. Yo Bob, I’ll make sure to see you in June when you come out here to Los Angeles. Also, I can’t wait to see the next issue of Bounce Magazine.

Aston Martin vs Kobe??

April 15th, 2008 by ROB ONE

I’m sure you saw the controversial video of Kobe jumping over an Aston Martin. Hollywood right?? Check out the outcome of this video. It’s not pleasant. So kids, definitely don’t try this at home. Laker fans don’t worry it’s only special effects. Funny though. Kobe for MVP!

Kobe X Spike Lee Joint

April 13th, 2008 by ROB ONE

First of all if you didn’t catch the Laker game against the Spurs today, y’all missed a good one.  Lakers killed ‘em 106-85 to take over for first place in the Western Conference.  They also announced during the game that Spike Lee was shooting a documentary of the day in the life of Kobe Bryant.  Spike follows Kobe throughout the entire day with 17 cameras and even had unlimited access into the Laker locker room.  So, look out for this much anticipated film.  I’m definitely keeping my eyes open for this one.  By the way check out what Kobe was rockin’ today.  The Nike Hyperdunks in a purple colorway.  (Photos by: NBAE Getty Images)

ADIKT Footwear & Apparel

April 11th, 2008 by ROB ONE

If you’re ever in the Dallas area make sure you stop by and see Darren and the crew at ADIKT. It’s a dope spot that carries sneakers, toys and streetwear brands that are not readily available in the area. I actually got a chance to check it out since my flight got canceled and I’m glad I did ’cause I picked up some kicks to take home with me. The crew Hannah, Farris and store owner Darren are hella cool peoples, so don’t be afraid to hit ‘em up. Yo Kev-One…Hannah is a K1X Rep, you need to holla at her! Check out their website at www.adiktfootwear.com. Peep the photos taken at the shop.

Nike Hyperdunk

April 10th, 2008 by RICHIE RICH

Nike and Kobe Bryant launched the Nike Hyperdunk on April 7th, Nike’s lightest and strongest basketball shoe ever. The Hyperdunk combines two new Nike innovations: Flywire technology and Lunarlite foam. Flywire redefines footwear construction, shaving off weight and adding strength, allowing athletes to be lighter on their feet and faster on the track and on the court. Lunarlite foam features a unique cell structure making it lightweight and ultra responsive as a cushioning system. At only 13.0 ounces, the Nike Hyperdunk is 18 percent lighter than the average Nike basketball shoe. Kobe runs an average of 2.5 miles a game—less weight on his feet means more energy on the court. Kobe is expected to play in the Nike Hyperdunk tonight when the Lakers meet the Clippers. The Hyperdunk hits US retail in late July. There will be a limited run available on www.KB24.com.

Kobe vs Aston Martin??

April 10th, 2008 by ROB ONE

Kobe, what are you doing brotha! We need you in the playoffs so we can get another championship. This video was part of a promo for his upcoming sneaker the Hyperdunk which will drop this summer. Check out the video.

Mavericks vs. Sonics

April 9th, 2008 by ROB ONE

Last night I got a chance to check out the home of the Dallas Mavericks since I was out in Texas on a business trip. I thought the game turned out pretty cool. I got a chance to see J.Kidd and Dirk, as well as my vote for Rookie of the Year, Kevin Durant. The crowd in Dallas is a little different from what I’m used to in Los Angeles, but it’s all good. Not really a fan of any of these teams…My heart bleeds Purple and Gold if ya’ know what I mean. I got pretty decent seats despite calling Ticketmaster the night before, probably because the Sonics were in town. The food was terrible, but I didn’t go to the game for the food. One thing that really stood out in my mind was that there’s a microphone right by the basket, so whenever the ball hits the rim you could hear it throughout the arena. There were a lot of bricks thrown up so you couldn’t help but hear it. It reminded me of a video game! Also, Josh Howard was rockin’ some ill-ass Jordan VIII player exclusives in White/Grey/Blue. Overall Dallas was a cool experience, however now I gotta fight my way back home to LA since American Airlines canceled thousands of flights throughout the nation and the fact that we have these crazy ass thunderstorms. Can’t wait to get home…I love L.A. Oh yeah, the Mavs beat the Sonics 99-83.

Fiesta Lakers X Yuco Entertainment Pt2

April 9th, 2008 by ROB ONE

Yo big ups to my man Jerrico for representin’ Bball Junkies during the Fiesta Lakers event back on March 23rd at the Los Angeles Convention Center. There were thousands of people out there showing support and rallying for the Lakers who have been considered the team to beat in the NBA. Check out some of the photos taken from behind the stage where you can see the West Hall consumed in purple and gold. Props to Jerrico and the Yuco Entertainment camp for holdin’ it down!
