Oh my goodness! No they didn’t. The Los Angeles Lakers decided that they wanted to take it back to the ol’ school in tonight’s game against the Boston Celtics, so they all were rockin’ nut-huggers during the first half of the game. John Stockton is probably wondering where his shorts are at. It would’ve been sick if they were all wearin’ some Chuck Taylors or Weapons. It’s a shame the Lakers lost this one, but the shorts were worth watching. Take a look at some of the photos provided by NBA Getty Images.
You gotta check out the 12-part documentary series set out by Nike titled Laced. These documentaries take you through the history of Nike basketball shoes through the eyes of pro and streetball players, bball experts, artists, designers and sneakerheads that ultimately created the sneaker culture. You’ll see that everything about sneaker culture revolved around the game of basketball. Hosted by Isaac Perry with special interviews with Scoop Jackson, RetroKid, Jeff Staple, Tinker Hatfield, my man Bobbito Garcia, and many more. Check out the trailer and all the other episodes here.
Today Nike’s releasing the Jordan VIII (Black/Varsity Red) if you didn’t know by now. I’m wondering if I should just spend my money on something else, like Christmas presents. I’m not sure if I’m gonna get a pair. Nah…just playin’! I’m shooting for 2 pairs. One to rock and the other to hold on ice.
I was very lucky to score some tickets to go see the Lakers play against the Clippers on Sunday night. It wasn’t much of a close game or a hyped up rivalry as I thought it was gonna be, because the Clippers are battling some injuries (The Clipper Curse). The Lakers ended up killin’ em 113-92 and held them to under 100 points so everyone won 2 free tacos at Jack-in-the-box. Kobe put up a nice game droppin’ 32 points and grabbin’ 8 rebounds. Sasha added 14 points all in the 4th quarter. The highlight of the game was when Maggette hit a buzzer beater from half court one-handed to end the third quarter. Check out the photos.
