I’ve been a huge fan of Todd McFarlane’s work for a long time now. I’m especially a big fan of McFarlane’s Sportspicks basketball action figures. If you don’t know about McFarlane Toys or ever seen any of the figures he’s made; let me tell you…they are dope. There are 6 figures in each Series to choose from. Check out the Paul Pierce figure that is scheduled to drop soon in December 2007 (NBA Basketball Series 13). Also, peep out the Kevin Garnett figure which will release next year in March 2008 (NBA Basketball Series 14). All we’re missing is Ray Allen. You can check out the rest of the figures on www.spawn.com.

I recently got this book as a gift from some good friends of mine. Let me tell you…This book is dope. I highly recommend it to anybody who is a fan of basketball. The photos and articles are amazing. Sports Illustrated did a great job, as always. Take a look at some of the pictures in it. Perfect present for the Holidays. Thanks Liz and Kelly.
Not sure if many of you know about this, but early this year Nike and Foot Locker launched a basketball-themed store called House of Hoops. This store will have everything basketball. From footwear, apparel, to equipment, House of Hoops promises to be a hub for all things basketball. “House of Hoops will give consumers who live and breathe basketball culture a unique retail experience not seen in the market today,” said Nike brand President Charles Denson.
Wow! This is heaven for all Bball Junkies! They plan to open 50 stores in the next 3 years; some may be conversions of old Foot Locker stores, others are new creations. Look for one in your area, some include Las Vegas, Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles. Peep out the one that opened up in Harlem just recently.

I thought that I should take the time to talk about and feature the t-shirt design “Don’t Stop The Rock”. If you haven’t noticed, this particular season pays homage to the Old School and to the pioneers that laid down the brickwork for us all. The concept of this tee was directly influenced by the Sugar Hill Gang’s track entitled “Rapper’s Delight”. This single was one of the first tracks to introduce the world to Hip Hop music. This tee “Don’t Stop The Rock” can be interpreted in many ways from the B-boy who thinks of break dancing to the Rocker who thinks of his music. But to us Bball Junkies…Don’t ever stop playin’ ball! Purchase your t-shirt today through the BBJ SHOP.
