Rich Soil Clothing

June 25th, 2009 by ROB ONE

First of all…Congratulations to Lamar Odom and the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers for a successful year.  I’m still celebrating!  Anyways, make sure to check out Lamar’s clothing line called Rich Soil and the Limited Edition World Champions t-shirt seen below.  If y’all don’t know about it, check out their website www.richsoilclothing.com.

Rich Soil is a clothing line that promotes creative design, spiritual iconic imagery, and the shared idea that growth can come from virtually anywhere. Started by Lamar Odom and designer Jonathan Garcia, Rich Soil seeks to be at the forefront of new ideas.  Drawing inspiration from an eclectic mix of experiences, musical taste and personal philosophy, Rich Soil uses the T-shirt as a vehicle to promote more than a brand, but a movement that represents the creative spirit of all people.

K1X - Nation of Hoop Summer 09

April 21st, 2009 by ROB ONE

Delivering hoop dreams comes with the territory when your name is World B Free.  But let’s start at the top…In the early 60’s, before adopting the World, Lloyd Bernard Free was a free-wheeling Brooklyn baller known for his infamous “Brownsville Boogie”.  His flamboyant game and when-in-doubt shoot mentality set him apart.  But it was the 44 inch vertical leap and ridiculous hangtime that put him in a class of his own (and introduced fans to the 360!), knighting the “Prince of Midair” with a unique moniker, “World”.  World B Free was born and moved on to the NBA, where the George Clinton of basketball brought funk on a nightly basis.  His on-court pizzazz and ability to score made hime one of the league’s most recognizable characters, and valuable point guards.  In 1978-79, World B Free was an All-Star, scoring 30.2 points per game for the San Diego Clippers, finishing second in the top scorers list behind only the “Iceman” George Gervin, for the second straight year.  Free and his unforgettable ‘fro (along with the legendary tooth-gap) rocked the NBA for 13 seasons with the Clippers, 76ers, Warriors, Cavaliers and Rockets, scoring 20.3 ppg and becoming a true basketball icon along the way.  For more info, check out www.k1x.com.

Pick-N-Roll: Staple & 12Grain

November 26th, 2008 by ROB ONE

Here’s a new segment on BBJ that I like to call: Pick-N-Roll.  Don’t laugh, I know it sounds corny, but it makes sense.  The post will feature some dope products that are out there right now, that if I’m out shopping I would definitely pick and roll with it.  Hence the title of the post: Pick-N-Roll.  Anyways, today I’d like to feature some t-shirts that I would roll with, if I’m not wearing BBJ.  One designed by Jeff Staple (Staple Design) and the other one from Sam Flores (12 Grain).  Just like how Stockton and Malone run the play, these products were well executed.  Two dope designers in the game right now that are my personal favorites.  Check out the photos below.  Watch out, you’ll get hooked on the phrase, too.

In4mation X Aloha Army

November 23rd, 2008 by ROB ONE

Damn, it’s been a while since I posted anything (I apologize).  I was on vacation 2 weeks ago, and I feel like I’m still on vacation mode.  Y’all know how it is.  Anyway, I had the opportunity to go visit the beautiful island of Oahu and chill with some family in Pearl City.   While I was there, I got the chance to meet up with Todd, Ryan, Jun, Justin and Keith from In4mation last week while I was enjoying the Hawaiian sun.  If y’all don’t know about In4mation, they’ve been in the game for quite some time.  They’re Hawaii’s premiere retailer of skate and streetwear located at Ward Warehouse in Honolulu.  They also got another store called Aloha Army located in Waikiki.  The crew at In4mation are well respected in the industry and it’s great knowing that they took some time out to meet with me, despite their busy schedules.  It’s the first time I met ‘em, and they’re the coolest cats you’d ever meet, definitely treated me like family.  So if you ever find yourself visiting Hawaii, make sure you stop by and check out these stores.  Shout outs go to the family at In4mation.  Yo Todd, thanks for the t-shirts brotha!  For more info visit www.in4mants.com and www.alohaarmy.com.

Don’t Stop The Rock

November 3rd, 2007 by ROB ONE

I thought that I should take the time to talk about and feature the t-shirt design “Don’t Stop The Rock”.  If you haven’t noticed, this particular season pays homage to the Old School and to the pioneers that laid down the brickwork for us all.  The concept of this tee was directly influenced by the Sugar Hill Gang’s track entitled “Rapper’s Delight”.  This single was one of the first tracks to introduce the world to Hip Hop music.  This tee “Don’t Stop The Rock” can be interpreted in many ways from the B-boy who thinks of break dancing to the Rocker who thinks of his music.  But to us Bball Junkies…Don’t ever stop playin’ ball!  Purchase your t-shirt today through the BBJ SHOP.
